2023 Volkswagen ID.4 Update

In 2021, Volkswagen debuted the ID.4. This small electric crossover has remained popular since its introduction, with VW making subtle upgrades over the past couple of years. Volkswagen has continued to tinker with their ID.4 electric SUV and for 2023 now offers more trim levels and options than in prior years.

The Volkswagen ID.4 is an agreeable SUV to drive. If you’re unsure about making the leap into an EV, the ID.4 will make it a painless transition. This quiet electric powertrain has smooth power delivery and snappy acceleration. The low center of gravity gives this SUV good handling in sporty driving and highway cruising alike. A few different drive modes (Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Custom) change the character of the ID.4 based on your preferences.

The ID.4 offers livelier acceleration than the average gas-powered compact SUV, but it’s not the sportiest choice in its class. The single-motor configuration is adequate for most drivers, but the dual-motor AWD models will be preferable to enthusiasts looking for exciting performance in a practical EV. They also offer better all-season traction on snowy roads than single-motor RWD models.

The Volkswagen ID.4 receives a couple of new trim packages and minor style updates for the 2023 model year. The expansive 12-inch infotainment touchscreen is now standard, when previously it was an optional feature. The new ID.4 Standard trim level is introduced as the new base trim level and comes with a 58 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack for the electric powertrain and can achieve an estimated 208-mile electric range on a single charge. The luxurious Pro S Plus trim package also joins the ID.4 lineup and features heated rear seats, three-zone climate control, and unique 20-inch wheels.

Settle into a spa-like atmosphere when you choose the 2023 Volkswagen ID.4. The 12-way power-adjustable front seats with massage functionality and memory settings are designed to help you and your co-pilot unwind after a long day. The intuitive ID.Light is a light bar that runs across the dashboard and delivers visual and audio cues for, among other things, incoming calls, brake warnings, and your vehicle’s charge status.

In short, the new ID.4 continues the tradition of combining value with some high-tech features. The ID4 still worth considering, because it does such a good job at being a regular Volkswagen SUV that also just happens to be a decent EV.
