Dongfeng’s Voyah Zhuiguang PHEV will launch in Q3 2023

Dongfeng Motor's new energy vehicle brand, VOYAH, unveiled a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric vehicle) addition to its Zhuiguang sedan lineup. Its target consumers are business executives. The PHEV version will be launched in the third quarter of this year.

Voyah is a high-end new energy vehicle brand under the Dongfeng Motor Corporation. In June, Voyah sold 3,007 vehicles, achieving a 150% year-on-year increase. The Zhuiguang PHEV version is part of Voyah’s plan to diversify its product portfolio. The existing Zhuiguang EV offers two pure electric ranges of 580 km and 730 km.

The Voyah Passion (domestic name is Zhuiguang) gets a plug-in hybrid version in China. This high-end sedan is capable of driving up to 101 km on a single battery charge. As for the mixed range, it is over 1,000 km. The Chinese regulator unveiled the specs of the Voyah Passion during the homologation process. Let’s get to know it better.

Positioned as a medium-to-large sedan, the size of Voyah Zhuiguang is 5088/1970/1515mm, and the wheelbase is 3000mm. It stands on the ‘ESSA+SOA’ platform. ‘ESSA’ stands for Electric, Smart, Secure, and Architecture. ‘SOA’ stands for Service-Oriented Architecture, which is an electric architecture with high computing power. Voyah claims that this platform has high electric drive efficiency and supports all-electric, hybrid, and hydrogen powertrains. In addition, the ESSA platform’s battery can charge up to 230 km in just 10 minutes.
