HiPhi Y electric SUV Launched in China

The freshly unveiled HiPhi Y stakes its claim in the medium-sized SUV category, making it the third member of HiPhi's all-electric family.

The HiPhi Y is a mid-size SUV that follows the signature HiPhi design language. It has huge LED running lights that can project images. They are connected together with a thin LED strip. Above the windshield of the Y, we can notice the LiDAR sensor. It means it will become the first HiPhi model to have this feature. The Y hasn’t got door handles at all. Instead, there are buttons on each door. Speaking about doors of the HiPhi Y, they are its main feature. The rear doors are divided into two segments. The lower looks like a normal door, while the upper one is a gull-wing door.

The exterior of the HiPhi Y screams 'robust' without losing its elegance. It stretches 194.4 inches in length, 77.1 inches in width, and stands 65.3 inches tall, a significant presence on any road. Its 116.1 inches wheelbase paves the way for a roomy five-seater layout, subtly deviating from its predecessors' futuristic vibe while maintaining the brand's iconic wing doors. With straight lines down the sides, a sloping front hood, and elevated tail lights, the SUV presents a commanding yet calm demeanor, its low front and high rear profile radiating solidity.

Inside, the HiPhi Y features a 17-inch OLED center display paired with a 15-inch HD passenger touch screen. There's also a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster for the driver. A Meridian sound system, camera rear-view mirror, and heads-up display all come as standard.

It isn’t a surprise that the HiPhi Y will initially hit the Chinese market. HiPhi has recently opened pre-sales for X and Z models in Germany and Norway. As for the HiPhi Y, it will enter the European market only in 2024. As for the other countries that were mentioned in the launch announcement, we have even less detailed information. HiPhi should enter their markets until 2025. We will keep an eye on the HiPhi Y, so stay tuned!
